Client's Requirements

The client wants to develop a 500 ml smart insulated stirring mug for professionals seeking a premium experience, allowing users to quickly prepare coffee, protein drinks, or ready-to-drink beverages in office, commuting, and daily scenarios. The product needs to feature a stainless steel insulated body, magnetic stirring function, a small handle, a transparent lid, a straw opening, and one-button operation, while maintaining a sleek, simple, and high-quality product image in terms of appearance.

  • 500 ml Insulated Mug Body: Meets the daily drinking capacity needs of office workers, while avoiding the burden of carrying and desktop use caused by an oversized mug.

  • Magnetic Stirring Function: Uses non-contact drive to replace traditional exposed stirring shafts, improving cleaning convenience and reducing the risk of liquid seeping into the motor area.

  • Transparent Lid and Straw Opening: Allows users to see the contents of the mug and switch drinking methods through the openable/closable straw hole.

Solutions

We established a lighter, sleeker product image with a top-wide, bottom-narrow cup body ratio, but this shape also compressed the space available for the bottom electronic module. To integrate the magnetic stirring function without compromising the aesthetic proportions, we rearranged the thickness of the bottom module, the position of the inner liner, the motor, battery, circuit board, buttons, and Type-C charging port, concentrating the electromechanical components at the bottom of the cup while maintaining the sleek appearance of the cup body.

The magnetic stirring structure separates the stirring components inside the cup from the bottom drive module, reducing the cleaning blind spots and water seepage risks associated with traditional drive shafts. The transparent lid and rotating silicone straw cover allow users to observe the contents of the cup and quickly switch between drinking and dust protection.

  • Top-wide, bottom-narrow cup body ratio: The cup body features a top-wide, bottom-narrow silhouette, preventing the 500 ml capacity from appearing bulky and visually resembling a lightweight cup for office desks. The design retains the upper capacity and drinking opening width while narrowing the base to reduce overall heft.

  • Integrated electromechanical configuration at the base: Due to the narrowed base shape and limited available space, the motor, battery, circuit board, button, and Type-C charging port must be concentrated within the bottom module. The design focus is not merely on fitting components, but on arranging the relationship between the inner liner, drive module, and charging location while maintaining the cup's proportions.

  • Handle and lid usage details: A small handle is added to the side of the cup body, making it easier for users to hold when filled with hot beverages. The lid features a transparent component paired with a rotatable silicone straw cover, allowing users to see the contents of the cup and switch between straw drinking or closing for dust protection as needed.
